How to Submit Your Work
It's easy!
Step 1: Email your manuscript in a Word doc to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Let me know if you are seeking a substantive edit or a line edit. It's helpful if you include a note describing your work and what inspired you to write it. The note doesn't need to be long, formal, or fancy, it’s just so I can get to know you better!
All materials received are treated as confidential and privileged information. I will not at any time or in any manner use any proprietary information for my own benefit, or divulge, disclose, or communicate any information to any third party.
In other words, your manuscript and ideas are safe with me. :-)
Step 2: I will reply confirming receipt and acceptance of the work. The confirmation email will include:
- the payment amount
- and the estimated completion date (within 4 weeks for most manuscripts).
Step 3: If you agree with the fee and delivery, I will invoice you for the first half of the fee via PayPal, allowing you to pay by credit card or PayPal account. (Half the total payment is billed and due in advance, prior to start of work, and the balance is due prior to delivery of the final edited manuscript.) You may also pay by check drawn on a U.S. bank however note that work will not commence until payment has cleared.
Step 4: I will edit and critique your manuscript!
- In some cases, I may review a manuscript and realize I am unable to help, either because the manuscript is already in pretty good shape or because I feel there are too many basic problems to merit investing in a professional edit at this time.
- If this occurs, I will return the manuscript and refund 90% of my editorial fee.
Step 5: I will invoice you for the second half of the fee.
Step 6: When payment clears, I will return your edited manuscript and/or editorial letter by email.
Step 7: Feel free to email me to arrange a follow-up conversation about my feedback on your manuscript. This consultation is included in the price of any substantive or line edit (up to 30 minutes).
